Wrexham AFC ownership group acquires The Turf pub

The ownership group of Wrexham AFC has completed the purchase of The Turf pub from Admiral Taverns in a multi-million pound deal. The acquisition aims to preserve the history of the establishment, which has been linked to the Racecourse Ground and the football club since its founding in 1864.

By bringing the pub, the club, and the Racecourse Ground under single ownership, the group intends to protect the club’s interests and invest in the fan experience. Planned improvements include enhancing the fan zone and other matchday activities near the Mold Road.

Despite the change in ownership, the pub’s day-to-day operations will remain unchanged, with current landlord Wayne Jones continuing in his role. This move follows a broader strategy by the ownership to secure key assets related to the club, including land for the new Kop and training facilities at Colliers Park.
