Wrocław City Council adopts amendments to new spatial development plan

The Wrocław City Council has adopted 30 amendments to the draft general plan for the city. This document will establish binding frameworks for future spatial management across the capital of Lower Silesia, replacing the previous study of conditions and directions of spatial development.

The new plan divides Wrocław into nearly 10,000 planning zones, defining permissible functions and basic building parameters. While it does not invalidate existing local spatial management plans, it will be binding for the creation of new plans and the issuance of building condition decisions.

Key points of discussion included the protection of green areas, specifically the Irrigation Fields (Pola Irygacyjne), which will be largely designated as an open zone to create a buffer free from industrial functions. The council also addressed the status of historical sites and land reserves for infrastructure and greenery, including the Czech Route (Trasa Czeska). A final vote on the entire resolution is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26.
