Wrocław court orders removal of anti-abortion billboards

A District Court in Wrocław has issued a non-final ruling ordering Adam B. and the foundation ‘Pro — Prawo do życia’ to cease violating the personal rights of 17-year-old Franciszek Kossowski. The court also mandated the removal of two anti-abortion billboards located near highway DK 4.

The legal battle began in 2021 after Agnieszka Kossowska reported that her son was repeatedly exposed to graphic images of fetuses on large billboards during trips to Wrocław for medical examinations. While a previous criminal case resulted in an acquittal for Adam B. in both instances, Kossowska pursued a civil lawsuit for the violation of her son's personal rights.

Psychiatric expert testimony presented during the trial confirmed that Franciszek suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to the exposure, noting that treatment could last for months or years. The ruling follows a three-year legal process aimed at protecting the minor from further psychological distress caused by such imagery.
