Wrocław faces transport disruptions and traffic incidents

Wrocław has experienced a series of transportation disruptions and traffic incidents. A tram derailment near the intersection of Piłsudskiego and Kołłątaja streets caused significant chaos, forcing MPK Wrocław to implement various detours for multiple tram lines, including lines 2, 4, 5, 8, 11, 15, 17, 18, 21, 22, and 23, as well as bus lines 145 and 146.

Road traffic was also impacted by several accidents. A collision between two passenger cars near the Wrocław Południe junction caused a two-hour paralysis on the highway toward Katowice. Additionally, a serious motorcycle accident on the Wrocław Motorway Bypass (AOW) near the Wrocław Stadion junction resulted in one injury and temporary lane closures.

In response to staffing needs, MPK Wrocław is hosting recruitment days on September 22 and 24 at its Obornicka street depot. The company is offering training programs for new drivers, including free category D licenses, with starting salaries of 8,020 PLN gross. Meanwhile, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued warnings regarding strong winds in the region.
