Wrocław football event organizer fails to pay international stars

The Ultimate Legends Night football event held at Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław has faced significant controversy following reports of unpaid wages to participating players. Despite featuring international stars such as Alessandro Del Piero, Rivaldo, and David Silva, the event saw a low turnout, with only approximately 12,000 spectators attending an arena capable of holding 44,000.

Organizer and former Polish international Piotr Ćwielong has acknowledged the financial difficulties. According to reports, several players have claimed they have not received the agreed-upon compensation for months. Ćwielong stated that while a business partner was originally responsible for the payments, that partner withdrew, leaving the financial burden on him. He denied any intention to defraud the participants, describing the situation as a business lesson and stating his intention to resolve the debts.
