Wrocław hosts 26th Tauron Nowe Horyzonty International Film Festival
The 26th edition of the Tauron Nowe Horyzonty International Film Festival runs in Wrocław from 23 July to 2 August 2026. The programme features 283 films from 92 countries, including 245 feature‑length titles and 43 short films, amounting to 25 697 minutes of screening. Venues span the city’s cinemas, the BWA gallery, the Dolnośląskie Centrum Filmowe and outdoor sites such as Plac Gołębi and the Leśnica castle. The festival opened with Cristian Mungiu’s *Fiord*, a drama about a Norwegian couple, and organizer Roman Gutek highlighted its role in promoting auteur cinema.
Alongside the screenings, BWA Wrocław presents the exhibition “Gotycki tropikalny”, exploring Latin‑American tropical gothic in film, literature and visual art. Curators Stach Szabłowski, Joanna Stembalska and Ewa Szabłowska describe the show as a fusion of genre cinema, counter‑cultural energy and contemporary technology, linking Central‑European imagination with the movement’s roots.
