Wrocław University of Science and Technology will lead a consortium to establish the National 6G Network and Services Laboratory in Poland. The project, titled ‘PL-6G: National 6G network and services laboratory with its environment’, received nearly 63 million PLN in funding through the European Funds for a Modern Economy (FENG) program.

The consortium includes the Warsaw University of Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, and the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center. The initiative aims to create a synergistic research ecosystem across nodes in Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, and Kraków.

Three specialized laboratories will be developed to conduct interdisciplinary research on 5G+/6G standards, autonomous systems, drones, digital twins, and augmented reality technologies. The project focuses on developing research infrastructure and strengthening the competencies of scientific and research staff by combining hardware aspects with advanced software and innovative service scenarios.
