Roadworks and accidents cause traffic disruptions in Poland and Slovakia

Various roadworks and incidents are causing significant traffic disruptions across Poland and the Slovakian border.

On the D3 motorway in Slovakia, the total closure of the Skalité – Svrčinovec section, including the Svrčinovec and Poľana tunnels, has been extended until August 27, 2026. Drivers traveling from Poland via Zwardoń must use designated detours.

In Warsaw, major renovations at Rondo Wiatraczna will begin on August 17, involving the closure of Zakole Street and lane reductions on Grochowska Street, affecting several bus lines. In Skarżysko-Kamienna, road expansion works on Kopernika Street are underway, with major disruptions expected until September.

Other regional updates include: - A railway crossing renovation in Krupski Młyn is causing changes to bus line 129 and the introduction of replacement line Z-29 from August 17 to 28. - A bridge renovation in Wrocław on Al. Armii Krajowej is expected to finish ahead of schedule on August 15. - Planned renovations on the A2 motorway between Łódź and Warsaw are now expected to begin in late October or November. - An overturned truck on the A1 motorway near Żory has blocked traffic toward Łódź due to damage to a gantry.
