Würzburg hosts summer open-air cinema and wine festivals in 2026

From 24 July to 2 August 2026 the Umweltstation Bastion in Würzburg will host the "Sommerflimmern" open‑air cinema series. Ten evenings of films, a reading, the Berg Film Fest and family programmes will be offered under trees and on a spacious lawn, with seating, refreshments and ticket sales both online and at the venue.

The city’s annual Wein am Stein festival also returns in 2026 at the Knoll winery. Celebrating its 40‑year anniversary, the event runs throughout July, featuring a mix of local wine, regional cuisine and live music. Highlights include DJ Oliver Koletzki on 19 July, singer JBS on 15 July and a lineup of national and international acts across the week, drawing thousands of visitors to the wine‑covered hills overlooking Würzburg.
