Police chases end in crashes in Germany, Switzerland and Austria

In Würzburg, Germany, a 19‑year‑old motorcyclist evaded an evening police check, collided with an officer’s vehicle and was later apprehended on foot. Police said he lacked a licence and was found carrying an air‑pistol.

In Mainz, Germany, a 31‑year‑old rider of a light‑weight motorcycle ignored a police stop, struck a patrol car and fled. He was caught after a short foot chase; a search uncovered a small amount of hash, signs of alcohol intoxication, a falsified registration plate and no valid licence.

In Kaltbrunn, Switzerland, a 41‑year‑old driver without a licence attempted to flee a routine control, losing control and hitting a hedge, a metal fence and a stone wall before stopping. He was injured, declared unfit to drive and is under investigation.

In Kitzbühel, Austria, a 56‑year‑old heavily intoxicated driver drove off after police attempted to stop him, striking a parked car before disappearing from sight. Police later identified him, seized his licence and reported him for endangering public safety.
