WSDOT announces road closures on I-5 and SR 509

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced nighttime lane and ramp closures on I-5, SR 509, and local roads in Burien, SeaTac, and Kent from Tuesday, Sept. 8, through the morning of Friday, Sept. 11.

Work on I-5 will involve drainage repairs, with up to two southbound lanes closing nightly between SR 516 and South 272nd Street. On SR 509, crews will perform landscaping and sign structure construction, including lane closures on southbound SR 509 and nightly closures of the South 188th Street and South 160th Street on-ramps.

Local road closures include nightly two-way closures on South 200th Street from 18th Avenue South to the Des Moines Creek Trail. These activities are part of the SR 509 Completion Project, which aims to build the new SR 509 Expressway.
