WSL Championship Tour heads to Peniche for decisive Portugal stage

The WSL Championship Tour enters a decisive phase with the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal taking place in Supertubos, Peniche, from October 16 to 25. This event serves as the tenth station of the tour and is the only European stop in the final stretch before the season concludes at Pipeline in Hawaii.

In the men's rankings, Brazilian surfer Yago Dora holds the lead with 42,780 points, maintaining a lead of approximately 2,765 points over Italy's Leonardo Fioravanti. The competition remains tight, as the top five positions are dominated by four Brazilians: Yago Dora, Ítalo Ferreira, Miguel Pupo, and Gabriel Medina. Fioravanti sits in second place, trailing the leader but remaining within striking distance of the title.

The Peniche stage offers 10,000 points to the winner, making it a critical opportunity for surfers to secure their standing before the final events in the Philippines and Hawaii.
