WSO2 named a Leader in 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for API Management

WSO2 has been recognized as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for API Management. The recognition highlights the company’s focus on the shift toward AI agents and machine-driven consumption within enterprise API strategies.

The WSO2 API Platform utilizes a modular architecture designed to manage APIs, AI services, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers across cloud, hybrid, and air-gapped environments. To support agentic workloads, the platform provides mechanisms such as llms.txt, api.md endpoints, Arazzo workflows, and an MCP Registry API. This allows enterprises to govern and monetize AI traffic, including token consumption, while maintaining control over which APIs agents can discover.

Derric Gilling, Vice President and General Manager of the API Platform at WSO2, stated that the company has rearchitected its platform to unify API and AI management, governance, and monetization. The platform aims to provide flexibility by allowing organizations to deploy specific components, such as the AI Gateway or MCP Hub, without requiring a full platform replacement.
