WSP announces federal leadership changes as AIAEC launches AI construction tool

WSP has announced leadership changes within its Federal Programs business to support growth and operational stability. Jess Commerford has been appointed as the business line executive for Federal, succeeding Todd Semonite. Commerford, who previously served as senior vice president of regional operations, will oversee strategic growth and client relationships for U.S. federal agencies. Semonite will transition into the role of Federal regional executive.

In the technology sector, Phoenix-based AIAEC has launched ChatAEC, an AI-driven platform designed for the architecture, engineering, and construction lifecycle. The tool aims to streamline planning by retrieving jurisdiction-level information to assist with zoning, land use, and regulatory assessments. The platform has been adopted by the Town of Gilbert for municipal workflows and by Butler Design Group for feasibility and site analysis. AIAEC plans to expand the service from Arizona to several other states, including Texas, Florida, and Colorado.
