WTA and TikTok announce global content partnership
The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and TikTok have entered into a global content partnership aimed at increasing fan engagement through digital storytelling and creator-led content. The agreement builds on a year of collaboration where the WTA account surpassed one million followers and generated over 250 million video views and engagements.
Key components of the deal include TikTok GamePlan, which will feature dedicated tournament hubs for select WTA 1000 events, WTA 500 tournaments, and the WTA Finals. The partnership also focuses on player-led storytelling to help athletes build their digital presence and the development of the WTA Creator Club, which will provide digital creators with access to tournaments and behind-the-scenes content.
As an initial highlight, the FAGE WTA Finals draw ceremony is scheduled to be livestreamed exclusively on TikTok. The season-ending championship is set to take place from November 8 to 15 in Indian Wells.
