WTT Europe Grand Smash: Mixed doubles silver for Hong Kong; Peng Yuhan reaches round of 16

At the WTT Europe Grand Smash, Hong Kong's mixed doubles pair Huang Zhenting and Du Kaiqin secured the silver medal after a 1-3 loss in the final against China's Lin Shidong and Kuai Man. Despite winning the first game 11-4, the pair struggled to maintain momentum as the Chinese duo took three consecutive games to claim the gold.

Both Huang and Du will continue competing in the doubles categories. Du Kaiqin is scheduled to compete in the women's doubles alongside Wu Yonglin, while Huang Zhenting will face the French pair Lebrun brothers in the men's doubles.

In the women's singles competition, 18-year-old Taiwanese player Peng Yuhan achieved a significant upset by defeating Japan's world-ranked 13th Honoka Hashimoto 3-1. After navigating through the qualifying rounds and a previous victory against France's Prithika Pavade, Peng has advanced to the round of 16, where she is set to face Japan's Miyu Nagasaki.
