Wu Tsung-hsien launches Yilan County Magistrate campaign headquarters

Kuomintang (KMT) candidate for Yilan County Magistrate Wu Tsung-hsien officially established his campaign headquarters on the 27th. The event featured a significant show of unity from opposition parties, with New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih, KMT Chairperson Cheng Li-wen, and Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairperson Huang Kuo-chang attending to support Wu.

During his speech, Hou Yu-ih emphasized the importance of regional integration, proposing the development of a ‘Yilan-Keelung-New Taipei-Taoyuan’ integrated living circle to boost local industry and connectivity. Hou also highlighted Wu's professional background, noting his previous service as the Director of the Legal Affairs Bureau in New Taipei City.

KMT's Cheng Li-wen criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate, Lin Kuo-chang, characterizing him as a proxy for President Lai Ching-te and a representative of the ‘New Tide’ faction. She argued that a victory for Lin would allow the New Tide faction to take control of the Yilan County government.
