Wu Yize wins 2026 Shenzhen Open snooker title

Wu Yize won the 2026 World Snooker Shenzhen Open by defeating compatriot Yuan Sijun 10-5 in the final. Wu secured the title with several significant breaks, including a 117 in the opening frame and a 74 in the tenth. Yuan, who reached the first ranking event final of his career, mounted a comeback mid-match to lead 4-3 before Wu regained control to secure his third career ranking title.

Wu’s victory has implications for the 2026 Champion of Champions tournament in Leicester. Because Wu had already qualified for the event through previous successes, his win opens an additional invitation spot. This allows Ronnie O’Sullivan to be invited to the tournament following his victory at the World Seniors Championship. O’Sullivan, a four-time winner of the event, remains a major potential addition to the field scheduled for November 9 to 15.
