Wube Software releases final major content update for Factorio
Wube Software has released version 2.1 of Factorio, marking the final major content update for the automation and survival game. This release concludes a development cycle that began in early 2012, spanning approximately 14 years.
The update introduces various quality-of-life improvements and technical refinements. Notable additions include the ability for space rockets to carry multiple types of objects in a single launch, the capability to build elevated rails directly above storage holds, and the repurposing of landmines to act as enemy detectors or triggers.
While Wube Software has stated that this is the last significant content expansion, the studio may still release minor patches to address remaining bugs in the coming months. Since its early access launch in 2016, Factorio has maintained high player satisfaction, holding a 98 percent positive rating on Steam.
