Wuerffel Foundation names 113 players to 2026 trophy watch list

The Wuerffel Foundation has announced the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, naming 113 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) players for the prestigious award. The trophy, named after 1996 Heisman winner Danny Wuerffel, recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional community service, leadership, and academic and athletic achievement.

Selected nominees include players from various major programs, such as Lawson Luckie (Georgia), Steven Demboski (Delaware), Maddux Madsen (Boise State), Clev Lubin (Louisville), Wayne Harrish (Kent State), DeAree Rogers (Northern Illinois), Cornell Perry (Syracuse), Jaden Platt (Arkansas), Cooper Cousins (Penn State), Jayden Montgomery (Iowa), Willie Rodriguez (Kentucky), and Myles Graham (Florida).

In partnership with Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the foundation will select 11 student-athletes from this list in September to serve as semifinalists and members of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The 2026 recipient will be announced live on December 11 during The Home Depot College Football Awards, with a formal presentation scheduled for February 2027 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
