Wulfen Summer Fest Modified Amid 40°C Heat Wave

The Allgemeine Bürgerschützenverein Wulfen altered its summer festival on Saturday, 27 June because of an extreme heat wave with temperatures near 40 °C. The planned parade and opening ceremony at the village’s coat-of-arms tree were cancelled, and the start of festivities on the Großer Ring was delayed until 5 p.m. Organisers added extra shade, mist‑sprays, water sprinklers and free mineral water, and adjusted the children’s program to suit the conditions.

Despite the shortened schedule, the event was deemed a success. Aron Badde earned the title of König in the traditional beer‑wagon shooting with his 289th shot and selected Michelle Löbbing as his queen.
