Wunderkammer spaces open in Cameri and Rome

Two distinct cultural initiatives featuring the name Wunderkammer have launched in Italy.

In Cameri, the 'WunderKammeri' has opened at the IC Tadini school. This space was created through the ABCDono project by the Fondazione Comunità Novarese to promote a culture of giving among primary school students. The room serves as a participatory learning space where children can act as 'mini designers,' proposing and realizing ideas to ensure the project's impact continues beyond the classroom. The name is a play on the historical 'Wunderkammer' (cabinet of curiosities) and the town of Cameri.

In Rome, the Casa Museo Wunderkammer has opened its 'Secret Cabinet of Rare Books and Drawings' to the public. The exhibition features a collection spanning over four centuries, including rare illuminated pages from 1510, Victorian illustrated books by Pre-Raphaelite artists, and rare editions of works by Edgar Allan Poe and Dante. The collection also includes original drawings and sketches from the Gothic Romantic, Victorian, and Nazarene movements.
