Wunopito Airport closed due to Mount Lewotolok volcanic ash

Wunopito Airport in Lewoleba, East Nusa Tenggara, has extended its closure due to volcanic ash from Mount Lewotolok in Lembata Regency. AirNav Indonesia issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) stating the airport is closed from 07:50 WITA on September 24, 2026, until 07:00 WITA on September 25, 2026.

The volcanic activity is categorized under an orange color code. Volcanic ash has been identified from the surface up to flight level FL070, moving westward at approximately 10 knots within the Ujung Pandang Flight Information Region. Wunopito Airport is located approximately 5 nautical miles from the ash area.
