Wunstorf Mayor proposes municipal enforcement service

The SPD in Wunstorf has expressed support for a proposal by Mayor Carsten Piellusch to strengthen the local regulatory office through a municipal enforcement service. The initiative aims to increase presence in public spaces to ensure existing rules are consistently enforced.

According to Sören Thoms, the SPD local chairman, the goal is not primarily to issue sanctions, but to use presence and direct engagement to prevent conflicts and improve public safety and consideration. The proposed service would involve two to four additional employees. To manage personnel resources, Piellusch suggested that the use of artificial intelligence within the administration could potentially allow for the reallocation of staff from desk duties to active patrols.
