Wuppertal infrastructure project to begin on Nützenberger Straße

Wuppertaler Stadtwerke (WSW) and the City of Wuppertal will begin a three-year infrastructure modernization project on Nützenberger Straße starting October 26, 2026. The project involves upgrading gas, water, and electricity lines, followed by a complete reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalks.

The construction will take place in several stages, beginning between Nützenberger Straße 77 and Vogelsaue. During the works, a temporary one-way street system will be implemented. Traffic from Elberfeld toward the Autobahn will remain accessible, while opposing traffic will be diverted via Friedrich-Ebert-Straße.

Public transport will also be affected. For approximately three months during the first phase, bus line 619 will be rerouted between Kyffhäuserstraße and Robert-Daum-Platz via the B7 toward the main station. This change will result in the temporary removal of several stops, including Anilintreppe, Vogelsaue, Bismarckstraße, and Roonstraße. To maintain connectivity, a ‘TaxiBus’ service will be available by prior booking for affected passengers.
