Wuppertal Mayor accuses AfD politicians of intimidation

Miriam Scherff, the Mayor of Wuppertal, has accused members of the AfD party of attempting to intimidate her. In a recent statement, the Social Democrat described a mid-September encounter with two local AfD politicians as “threatening.”

The dispute centers on the politicians taking photographs near Scherff’s private residence. While the AfD denies any wrongdoing, claiming they were merely photographing a construction site following a resident's complaint, Scherff has labeled these explanations as “untruths.” She noted that there was no construction site or parking strip on the street near her home at the time.

Scherff reported that one of the politicians used an “aggressive tone” and made dismissive gestures during their interaction. She characterized the situation as an attempt at intimidation rather than a routine inspection.
