Wupperverband adjusts water management amid falling reservoir levels

The Wupperverband is adjusting its water management strategy due to a prolonged dry period and historically low water levels in the Wupper region. The Wuppertalsperre reservoir has reached a capacity of only 28 percent.

In coordination with the Cologne District Government, the association is reducing the water discharge to ensure a minimum flow of 2,500 liters per second at the Kluserbrücke reference level. To support this, the Bevertalsperre reservoir is being more heavily utilized to compensate for the low levels in the Wuppertalsperre.
