WWE abandons ‘Vice City’ trademark application

WWE has officially abandoned its application to trademark the term ‘Vice City’ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The filing, originally submitted in August, was processed as withdrawn or abandoned on September 21.

The term is closely associated with wrestler Lola Vice, who recently moved to the RAW roster and has used the terminology in television and social media. While the reason for the withdrawal was not specified in the paperwork, speculation suggests potential trademark conflicts with the ‘Vice City’ setting from the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise by Rockstar Games.

In recent developments, Lola Vice has expressed interest in a potential on-screen partnership with Paul Heyman following advice received backstage at RAW. Vice is currently set to compete in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on October 10 in New Orleans.
