WWE adds Baron Corbin and CM Punk to SmackDown roster

WWE filed a trademark for Baron Corbin’s nickname “The Nomad” on July 10, signaling a surprise return. Corbin appeared in the closing moments of a SmackDown match, attacking Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, confirming his comeback to the blue brand.

Earlier in the week, CM Punk defeated Sami Zayn on Monday Night RAW to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. The title is exclusive to SmackDown, and WWE’s website now lists Punk as a SmackDown star. He is scheduled to debut on the brand later that night at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
