WWE adopts more patient talent development under new management

Veteran performer JBL said WWE’s front office now provides a longer developmental leash for newcomers, allowing patience as wrestlers transition directly from the Performance Center and NXT. This marks a shift from the Vince McMahon era, when talent were expected to arrive with extensive regional‑territory experience and faced termination for minor in‑ring errors.

CM Punk echoed the view that the current approach is far more forgiving. JBL linked the change to WWE’s global streaming strategy, which secures revenue before events and reduces dependence on traditional U.S. and Canadian pay‑per‑view metrics, enabling broader international expansion and the promotion of diverse talent.
