WWE and TKO resolve dispute over $147.5 million shareholder settlement

A dispute delaying a $147.5 million settlement in a WWE shareholder lawsuit appears to have been resolved. The delay stemmed from a “narrow disagreement” between legal representatives for Vince McMahon and executives including Nick Khan, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, George Barrios, and Michelle Wilson.

The disagreement centered on the scope of legal releases and the responsibility for payments, specifically regarding how much would be covered by insurance companies. Under the terms of the global settlement, WWE’s portion is $105 million, with TKO expecting insurance to cover $75 million of that amount. Vince McMahon and/or his insurers are responsible for the remaining $42.5 million.

According to filings in the Delaware Court of Chancery, the defendants and TKO believe the outstanding issues regarding intra-defendant releases have been addressed. The parties are now awaiting final sign-off from certain non-party insurance carriers to authorize the formal execution of the settlement stipulation.
