WWE anticipates AEW to stage US show during WrestleMania 43 weekend in Saudi Arabia

WWE announced that WrestleMania 43 will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2027, the first time the event will be staged outside the United States since 2002. The company expects its rival, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), to organize a major wrestling show in the United States during the same weekend, aiming to fill the void left by the flagship event moving abroad. WWE’s early announcement of its U.S. festivities, including NXT and Triple AAA events in New York, was partly driven by the expectation of AEW’s presence, according to sources cited by Fightful Select. AEW’s owner Tony Khan has not yet confirmed any plans for a stadium‑scale show, but industry observers and fans anticipate a significant opportunity for the promotion.

The proposed AEW event would likely coincide with other wrestling conventions and could become the largest U.S. professional‑wrestling show of 2027, while WWE’s WrestleMania proceeds overseas.
