WWE maintains February 6 date for Royal Rumble 2027

WWE has decided against rescheduling the 2027 Royal Rumble, opting to keep the event on its originally planned date of February 6.

Internal discussions within the company explored moving the Premium Live Event to February 20 to capitalize on the media coverage surrounding Super Bowl LXI. Because ESPN will broadcast the Super Bowl, WWE executives believed the shift could provide significant promotional exposure during the lead-up to and during the NFL championship weekend.

However, the company ultimately abandoned the plan due to logistical and scheduling complexities. Moving the event would have required altering multiple dates within the existing WWE calendar. Additionally, the 2027 NBA All-Star Weekend is scheduled for February 19 to 21 in Phoenix, Arizona, which presented potential commercial and logistical challenges for organizing the Royal Rumble on the proposed weekend.
