WWE NXT announces return of Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
WWE NXT has announced the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, set to begin on the September 22 episode of the brand’s weekly programming. NXT General Manager Robert Stone revealed that this year’s tournament will feature a 14-team bracket.
In a departure from previous editions, the competition will not be limited to NXT talent. The field will include representatives from WWE RAW, SmackDown, EVOLVE, and AAA. The Creed Brothers have been confirmed as one of the participating teams.
The tournament, which was originally established in 2015 to honor the late wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes, aims to determine the next number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Full tournament brackets are expected to be revealed later this week.
