WWE NXT Great American Bash heats up with contract signings and fireball attack
WWE NXT is building momentum for the Great American Bash on June 28. The go‑home show on June 23 featured contract signings that set the main events: Tony D'Angelo will defend the NXT Championship against Naraku, and Lola Vice will face Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship. A women’s speed tournament final saw Arianna Grace defeat Izzi Dame to earn a future title shot.
During the contract signing, Naraku launched a fireball into D'Angelo’s face, causing burns that required the champion to be taken to the hospital. Despite the injury, officials confirmed D'Angelo will still compete at the Bash.
Additional matches were added to the card: Zaria will defend the North American title against Tatum Paxley, Shiloh Hill will seek revenge against Tristan Angels, and Myles Borne will face Tavion Heights for the North American Championship. Other scheduled bouts include Myles Borne vs. Tavion Heights, the EVOLVE Championship defense by Aaron Rourke, and a tag‑team clash between the Belly Boys and BirthRight.
