WWE NXT holds Florida live events ahead of Heatwave

WWE NXT recently held live houseshows in Venice and Gainesville, Florida. During the Venice event, Kendal Grey defeated Izzi Dame for the NXT Women’s Championship, and Myles Borne retained the NXT North American Championship against Jackson Drake. In Gainesville, Zaria successfully defended the NXT Women’s North American Championship in a triple threat match against Lizzy Rain and Kali Armstrong.

Looking ahead to the August 25 episode of NXT, the brand is preparing for the Heatwave premium live event. The upcoming show at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando will feature a high-stakes non-title match between Zaria and Kali Armstrong; a victory for Armstrong would grant her a spot in the upcoming Women’s North American Championship and WWE Women’s Speed title unification match. Other scheduled matches include a weaponized steel cage match between Dion Lennox and Saquon Shugars, and a defense of the AAA Cruiserweight title by Rey Fenix against EK Prosper.
