WWE plans for Bobby Roode to succeed Michael Hayes in backstage role
WWE executive Triple H has selected Bobby Roode to eventually succeed Michael Hayes in a key backstage production role. Michael Hayes revealed these details during an appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast, ‘What’s Your Story?’.
Hayes noted that Triple H approached him directly, comparing the importance of the position to the role formerly held by the late Pat Patterson. The plan involves Hayes mentoring Roode to prepare him for greater creative and talent guidance responsibilities.
Roode transitioned into production work following a neck injury in 2022 that ended his in-ring career. Hayes expressed confidence in Roode’s progress as a producer, noting his strong ability behind the scenes, though he suggested Roode must learn to navigate industry factors that are outside of an individual's control.
