WWE plans to expand SmackDown runtime to three hours in 2027
WWE is reportedly planning to expand the runtime of its SmackDown program back to three hours starting in January 2027. According to a source at the USA Network, the change is tentatively scheduled for January 8, 2027.
The blue brand has experienced several fluctuations in its format recently, moving between two-hour and three-hour slots throughout 2025.
On the current roster, upcoming SmackDown programming includes a United States Championship match between Carmelo Hayes and Baron Corbin, a Women's US Title match featuring Jacey Jayne and Tiffany Stratton, and a Triple Threat match for the WWE Tag Team Titles involving R-Truth, Damian Priest, the War Raiders, and MFT. Additionally, Kevin Owens and CM Punk are scheduled for a face-to-face segment ahead of their Undisputed Title match next week.
