WWE releases former stars as free agents after roster cuts
WWE's April roster cuts saw roughly 25 wrestlers released, each subject to a 90‑day non‑compete clause. As of late July, the clauses for several former talent have expired, making them free agents. The newly available wrestlers include Aleister Black, Kairi Sane, Zelina Vega, Zoey Stark, and members of the Wyatt Sicks faction (Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy, Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy), as well as the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) and Santos Escobar. Reports note that the free agents may sign with other promotions such as All Elite Wrestling, Impact (formerly TNA), or pursue independent work and overseas opportunities. The wave followed WrestleMania 42 and the post‑WrestleMania SmackDown episode.
