WWE releases several developmental talents including Wendy Choo

WWE has conducted a recent round of developmental talent cuts, releasing several performers including Wendy Choo, Jasper Troy, PJ Vasa, Adriana Rizzo, Zena Sterling, Braxton Cole, Anya Rune, Marcus Brown, Ellen Akesson, and referee Gary Wilson.

Reports indicate that Choo’s departure specifically surprised talent at the WWE Performance Center. Choo, whose real name is Karen Yu, joined the company in 2019 and previously held the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship. She recently competed in matches for NXT and TNA Wrestling.

Industry analysts suggest that while some released athletes like Choo and Anya Rune are expected to continue wrestling, others—particularly those recruited without prior professional wrestling experience—may leave the industry entirely. Some former recruits might only appear at conventions or autograph signings rather than returning to the ring.
