WWE Schedules Interim Women's Championship Ladder Match for SummerSlam

WWE announced that the interim Women’s Championship will be decided in a five‑way ladder match at SummerSlam Night 2. Qualified competitors are Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair and Chelsea Green. The final spot will be filled by the winner of a SmackDown qualifier between Giulia and Lash Legend.

The match was arranged after Rhea Ripley’s injury forced Triple H to crown an interim champion. Ahead of the event, former WWE star CM Punk told ESPN’s Mike Greenberg that he would never compete in a ladder match again, describing the stipulation as “dangerous” and “career‑shortening.” He expressed hope that the women’s participants stay safe.

The ladder match will take place at SummerSlam, WWE’s premier pay‑per‑view, and will determine who holds the interim title until a permanent champion is crowned.
