WWE signs athlete Elly Finch to developmental deal

WWE has signed 23-year-old Elly Finch to a developmental contract. Finch, a former Michigan State University track and field athlete, reportedly secured the deal following tryouts in January and August 2026.

Finch brings a diverse athletic background to the promotion, having competed in shot put at the collegiate level. She also made history as the first female to play varsity football for Royal Oak High School in Michigan. She is expected to begin training within the company’s developmental system at the Performance Center.

The signing comes amid reports of roster changes and budget adjustments within WWE and its parent company, TKO, which have seen recent departures from the developmental programs.
