WWE's Chad Gable moves forward after losing El Grande Americano mask

Chad Gable's recent WWE storyline centers on the loss of his El Grande Americano mask. After being defeated by Ludwig Kaiser in a Mask‑vs‑Mask match at AAA’s Noche de los Grandes, Gable can no longer portray the character. On a Raw episode staged in Paris, he apologized to Rey Fénix and attempted to make amends with Penta, Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio. Later that night, Penta retained the Intercontinental title against Mysterio before Rusev and Ethan Page attacked both competitors and unmasked Mysterio. Gable intervened, subduing Rusev and Page and helping restore Mysterio’s mask.

WWE veterans have begun touting Gable’s rising star power. AJ Styles said on his podcast that “he’s a bigger superstar than he’s ever been” and urged the company to capitalize on his momentum. Former champion Mark Henry likened Gable’s potential trajectory to that of Kurt Angle, praising his Olympic background and in‑ring abilities.
