Wyatt Russell to star in new Apple TV Monsterverse series

Connie Nielsen and Stana Katic have joined the cast of an upcoming Monsterverse series for Apple TV. The project stars Wyatt Russell, who also serves as an executive producer.

Set in 1984, the series follows American operative Colonel Lee Shaw on a secret mission behind enemy lines. The plot involves an attempt to prevent the Soviet Union from unleashing a massive Titan capable of destroying the United States and altering the course of the Cold War. The character of Lee Shaw was previously featured in the series ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’, with Wyatt Russell playing the younger version of the character.

Other cast members include Millie Brady, Pilou Asbæk, Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson, and Nyasha Hatendi. The series is part of an expansion of the Monsterverse franchise, which includes the Godzilla and Kong film series. Showrunner Joby Harold is among the executive producers.
