Wybrzeże Gdańsk stadium renovation stalled as contractor withdraws

The speedway club Wybrzeże Gdańsk faces infrastructure challenges following its promotion to the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga. To meet league licensing requirements regarding stadium conditions, the club and the Gdańsk Sports and Recreation Center (GOS) planned a renovation of the iconic 'Brama Maratońska'.

A contractor from Siedlce, who won the tender with a bid of 442,000 PLN, has withdrawn from the project. The company cited errors in its own cost estimates and an underestimation of the scope of work. Consequently, GOS must announce a new tender to proceed with the necessary repairs.
