Wydad AC nears departure of coach Paulo Sergio

Wydad AC management is moving toward terminating the contract of Portuguese coach Paulo Sergio following a disappointing start to the season. The club has secured only 5 points out of a possible 12 in the first four matches of the professional league.

Reports indicate that the club's board has offered 80 million centimes to Sergio to reach a mutual agreement for contract termination. This decision follows a recent setback against Amel Tiznit, which was viewed as a final opportunity for the technical staff to improve results.

In parallel, the club is negotiating with Tunisian coach Nassreddine Nabi to lead the team. Club president Ibrahim El Asri has emphasized that decisions regarding the technical staff will be based strictly on results and the best interests of the club, noting that while the selection of Sergio was based on his professional credentials, the ultimate measure of success is performance on the pitch.
