Wydad AC seeks to resolve multi-billion centime debts to lift transfer ban

Wydad AC is working to resolve significant financial disputes to lift an international transfer ban imposed by FIFA. The club has successfully settled a dispute with Le Havre FC, paying 160 million centimes related to the transfer of Nassim Chadli to Al Ain.

However, several international claims remain outstanding, totaling approximately 2.375 billion centimes. These involve clubs such as Rodez (France), Casa Pia (Portugal), Lugano (Switzerland), and Fluminense (Brazil), as well as the Brazilian company Ander Ltda. Specific debts include 704 million centimes to Lugano and 1.11 billion centimes to Fluminense.

Internally, the club's management, led by Ibrahim El Asri, has met with former president Hicham Ait Mana, Fouzi Lekjaa (President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation), and Abdel Salam Belkchour (President of the National Professional Football League). Ait Mana has committed to addressing disputes totaling 26 million dirhams by September 2026, with an additional 20 million dirhams for player transfer obligations due by the end of the year. The club management warned that failure to meet these commitments would result in legal action to protect the club's interests.
