Wydaho Roasters owner faces backlash after pro-life meeting clash

A confrontation at Wydaho Roasters in Driggs, Idaho, has sparked significant online backlash and reports of harassment. The incident occurred on August 17 when Jim Sheehan, the coffee shop owner, confronted a group of Students for Life of America members who had gathered to launch a local chapter and discuss family resources.

During the exchange, Sheehan asked the group to leave and compared the pro-life supporters to the KKK. While Sheehan later stated the analogy was a mistake, he has maintained his decision to deny the group space for their meeting.

Following the circulation of video footage of the encounter on social media, Sheehan reported receiving continuous harassment, including anonymous text messages containing his home address. In response, he deactivated the business’s website, social media accounts, and phone line to protect his family and employees. Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, has also joined calls for calm and mutual respect amidst the escalating tension.
