Wylye Distillery opens to visitors at Windmill Farm in Wiltshire
Owner‑distiller Sam Barber announced that the Wylye Distillery in the Wylye Valley, Wiltshire, will welcome trade, media and private guests for the first time. The single‑malt operation, housed in four repurposed farm buildings on the Windmill Farm site, now holds more than 1,000 casks, most of them ex‑bourbon barrels, maturing in a tin‑roofed pole barn. Visitors will be able to tour the restored dairy‑turned visitor centre, which includes a bespoke bar, a cosy log‑burner lounge, a library of spirits literature and a drinks terrace. Barber said the move is intended to make the distillery “a home for whisky drinkers around the world” and to showcase the spirit while it continues to develop in the valley’s natural seasonal conditions.
