Wyndham Clark Leads US Open as Bryson DeChambeau Misses Cut

At the 2024 U.S. Open held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York, 32‑year‑old Wyndham Clark posted a 69‑stroke round to sit six strokes clear of the field, positioning himself for a possible second victory on the PGA Tour. The lead was the fourth‑largest margin after 54 holes in tournament history. Scottie Scheffler remained in contention, climbing to second place with a 69, while several other contenders, including Japan’s Riku Kitoh (17th) and Hideki Matsuyama (65th), completed the third round.

In contrast, former champion Bryson DeChambeau failed to make the cut by a single stroke, marking the first time he has missed the cut in three consecutive majors. Other notable players also missed the weekend, such as Victor Hovland, Riku Kitoh, Patrick Reed, John Rahm and Adam Scott. DeChambeau’s fair‑way keep rate was 85.71 % (5th overall) but his putting slipped to 61.11 % (59th), contributing to his 75‑stroke total.
